This interactive session will open with 2-minute introductions from each panel member, followed by a “hot topic” question related to the panelists' expertise on the theme of supporting vulnerable women. A total of 5 questions will guide discussion and sharing of ideas. The aim of the session is for both panelists and participants is to expand our understanding around the complex interface of stigma and safety in supporting vulnerable women.
Policy. It’s a term we hear often but how well do we understand it? How are public policies made and changed, and can your research influence the process? Does it need to influence policy directly in order to effect health system changes? Learn a little bit about the policy decision making process in government and some key issues to consider when approaching decision makers about using your research findings to drive positive change.

The Brown Bag Lunch series is a joint initiative between Northern Health and UNBC to promote health research in the North. Brown Bag Lunch is a series of free lunchtime seminars taking place the fourth Thursday of every month and features a variety of health research topics and presenters. The presentations are held at the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) and available remotely via WebEx. Each luncheon is scheduled for 45 minutes.
