The purpose of the Patient and Family Advisory Council (referred to as “the PAC”) is to form collaborative partnerships between patients, families and communities and the SOGH leadership team to improve quality of care and the patient experience. The PAC acts in an advisory capacity to ensure the patient, family voice within our communities is integrated in the planning, delivery and evaluation of services at SOGH.

The SOGH Patient Advisory Committee is an established group seeking 1-2 new members. We meet for 45 min quarterly and ad hoc. Participants may join virtually or in person.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of Collaborate on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Specific health care experiences [details below]
  • An interest in improving health care services
  • The time to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • Should be a local resident served by SOGH's catchment area and ideally will have been a patient (or support person for a patient) at SOGH.

Patient Partners ARE NOT required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
