Background

Created in 2018, the Provincial Patient Transfer Committee is a way for every Health Authority to have input on how we use ambulance and air ambulance resources for patient transfers. Our core members are Directors responsible for the transport portfolio across all Health Authority’s, including representation form the Rural Coordination Centre of BC (RCCbc) and the Ministry of Health (MoH). The committee has worked on revamping the provincial repatriation process and creating the Provincial Patient Transfer Services Dashboard which allows hospital staff across the province to track their patient transfers in real time. The Terms of Reference is currently a work in progress as the committee is evolving.
