Purpose:
1) Build on the work completed by the Interior Health (IH)Stroke Care Network with a review of our values, vision, and mission.
2) Host an opportunity for people with lived experience of stroke to assist in setting the priorities for the next 5 years and inform the regional stroke work plan.

This opportunity is an online 2 hour focus group that will be head via the Microsoft TEAMS platform. discussion will centre around 4 key questions:
1) Review Vision / Mission / Values to align with priorities for stroke care as part of Neurological care:
– Vision: Exceptional Neurological care for all
– Mission: Research driven, inclusive, and adaptable approach to care
– Values: Fairness / Humility / Kindness
2) How do we prioritize our work: Sustainability / Access / Collaboration
3) How do we sustain best care in the next 5 years?
4) How do we grow best care in the next 5 years?

The Interior Health Stroke Network are seeking those with lived experience of stroke to help us shape our work and priorities for improving care for the next 5 years in the interior region of BC.

This opportunity is at the level of Collaborate on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
  • Specific health care experiences [details below]
  • Have access to technology and the internet to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • Comfortable using technology to attend online/virtual meetings
  • An interest in improving health care services
  • The time to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • Person who has experienced a stroke or cared for a person who experienced a stroke in the last 5 years in the Interior Health Region.

Patient Partners ARE required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.

The voices of the patient, family and caregiver are essential to ensure the patient is central to the direction and focus of the work being done.
