• To develop a longer term clinical trials engagement informed by the group discussion

Background

Clinical trials are research studies in which people help doctors find ways to improve health care. Each study tries to find better ways to prevent, diagnose, or treat health problems. There is growing demand in the Northern region for clinical trials to be run locally. Northern Health is working to get infrastructure set up to support local clinical research. The bottom line is because we’re caring for patients. People who know best are those who are receiving the care so it makes logical sense that we would consult with them about their experiences. By connecting with PVN we have been able to educate our teams about the value of patient partners and how important their perspective is in our services.
