This is a time-limited working group that will focus on the development of a provincial plan for colonoscopy services to:- improve timely access to appropriate colonoscopy procedures; and
- improve the patient experience
Level of Engagement
This opportunity is at the level of involve on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will work with you to ensure that your ideas and concerns are reflected in recommendations and provide feedback on how your input affected the decision.Eligibility
- A patient partner or family member of a patient who is currently waiting for, or has had a colonoscopy in BC
- Experience with participating on a committee, board, and/or with strategic planning.
- Experience providing advice or recommendations to a group
- Comfortable sharing your experience
- Experience on working groups or committees
- Ability to speak clearly and confidence to contribute
- If you have a strong interest in this work but have not yet completed a PVN orientation and Volunteer Agreement, are unsure if your experience is a good fit or feel another format of engagement would work better with your availability, please contact Cathy Almost

Logistics
- Vacancies: 1
- February 9, 2018 (9am-3:30pm) in-person meeting in Vancouver
- Starting on February 27, 2018 (TBC: 1:30-2:30 or 1:00-2:00 Tuesdays), biweekly 1 hour meetings via teleconference. Please note this time may change occasionally
Reimbursement
Pre-approved travel expenses will be reimbursed for travel (including parking, mileage etc) to Vancouver. Reimbursement will occur when receipts collected. More information will be shared once confirmed for the engagement.Background
The Provincial Colonoscopy Working Group will focus on the development of a action plan for colonoscopy services in BC to:- improve timely access to appropriate colonoscopy procedures; and
- improve the patient experience
- Ministry of Health – representatives from areas that have accountability for provincial colonoscopy policy and strategy
- Health Authorities – representatives from each health authority who have accountabilities for colonoscopy policy and strategy
- Physicians – representatives from the physician community, who perform colonoscopies
