Categories: My Experience, News & Events

We’re thrilled to say that this year, for the very first time, the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council (BCPSQC) will be broadcasting Health Talks, the Quality Awards ceremony, and the Quality Forum’s plenary sessions on Facebook Live during Quality Forum 2017! The events will be available to those who can’t attend in person, as part of the Council’s commitment to being Patients Included.

There will be four broadcasts streaming from the BCPSQC’s Facebook page:

Health Talks & Quality Awards Ceremony
Wednesday, March 1 from
1900 – 2045

Year after year, Health Talks is one of participants’ favorite events at Quality Forum! It starts with a ceremony to recognize the eight winners of the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council’s annual Quality Awards, which celebrate improvements in quality of care.

The ceremony is followed by eight awesome speakers telling us about their hopes for health care. They use the PechaKucha 20×20 format, where presentations contain 20 photos, each of which is displayed for exactly 20 seconds before automatically advancing to the next one. This style encourages a rare combination of brevity, creativity, and energy!

PVN has really helped us engage with patient partners to improve health services at Northern Health.  It is more and more becoming the norm to include patients in the design, delivery and evaluation of health services.  PVN education and supports, involving patient partners, have enabled us to develop the capacity to include the patient voice to make care better and achieve better health outcomes.
