The Clinical Workforce Optimization and Design team at Providence Health Care is working on developing a new model of care for the inpatient Medicine units at the new St Paul’s Hospital. We are aiming to engage patient partners early in the process so we can have their input in the design of a report, that will provide recommendations to be implemented by Operations. This partnership will involve a series of online meetings (likely 2 or 3), reviewing drafts and providing feedback.

Patient and family partners should not be a check box on research proposals! They need to be involved right from the start. I know patient and family partners are doing their part by providing their knowledge to researchers from their lived experience.  It’s a win-win for us to work together through PVN to make sure our input drives improvements.
