We are currently seeking a new enthusiastic Public Representative to join the IH Quality Management Committee (QMC) to participate in monthly meetings – typically scheduled on a Wednesday morning. Meetings are almost always held virtually – and should an in-person meeting is scheduled, there will be a virtual option.

The QMC is a senior committee that is committed to ensuring that the patient’s voice is heard when strategic decisions are made regarding patient safety and quality of care issues at the organizational level.

Members on this committee review briefing notes and reports related to quality and patient safety, and recommend measures to improve organizational policies and procedures that enhance patient care.

For more information, a detailed Terms of Reference is available.

The QMC establishes and articulates the vision for quality and patient safety on behalf of the IH Senior Executive Team.

QMC sets the clinical service strategy, identifies clinical innovation, establishes and provides recommendations on and monitors the implementation of Interior Health’s Quality and Patient Safety Plan, and provides oversight of organization-level measures related to quality improvement and patient safety.

Public Representatives are appointed by the QMC Co-Chairs for a maximum term of 3 years.

Decisions shall be brought through consensus where members develop and agree to support a decision in the best interest of the whole.
