Background

In response to feedback from last year's Leadership Forum participants, the organizers along with the executive directors and executive medical directors have designed a new format for this year. These sessions have been created to support skill-building in leaders at the management level and above. This is an opportunity for patient partners to network with some of Island Health's innovative leaders, strengthen their own leadership skills, and apply their learning to relevant Island Health engagement activities. There will be a final presentation at the Leadership U session.

PVN has really helped us engage with patient partners to improve health services at Northern Health.  It is more and more becoming the norm to include patients in the design, delivery and evaluation of health services.  PVN education and supports, involving patient partners, have enabled us to develop the capacity to include the patient voice to make care better and achieve better health outcomes.
