Background

IH has been developing online site for patients to provide them with information and resources to help prepare them for surgery. This is an exciting next step to move from a web-based platform to an easily accessible app that will provide additional social supports to patients in this challenging time in healthcare where we are required to social distance to stay safe. This can be isolating for our community and we hope that being part of an online community could help patients with this. The app will build off an existing platform by Curatio, and is completely private and secure, offering a number of features including curated information, tracking tools and social support. It has been so rewarding to go from an idea to working with such a great group of dedicated people from so many different organizations towards a very fun and rewarding project. Several extremely engaged PVN members expressed interest in being part of piloting a patient virtual care peer support system. I am confident that this is the beginning of many more exciting collaborations!
