Background

IH has been developing online site for patients to provide them with information and resources to help prepare them for surgery. This is an exciting next step to move from a web-based platform to an easily accessible app that will provide additional social supports to patients in this challenging time in healthcare where we are required to social distance to stay safe. This can be isolating for our community and we hope that being part of an online community could help patients with this. The app will build off an existing platform by Curatio, and is completely private and secure, offering a number of features including curated information, tracking tools and social support. The Patient Voices Network has connected me to a community with the same drive to bring person- and family-centred care to the forefront. I am grateful for all opportunities I have been a part of thanks to PVN, which positively impacts patients like my sister and their caregivers. No matter how small, all patient engagement will help shape the future of health care and that I can stand behind
