Aim: To share lived/living experience of urgent (12-24 hours) and primary health care services in Nanaimo and to provide input on the design of future health care services intended to improve patient access to primary care.
Background: Patient partners will work with health authority, Primary Care Network and other community partners to provide recommendations and inform decisions related to the design of quality, safe primary care and services.
Logistics: Meetings will be held by Zoom on Wednesdays (in-person, sharing of a computer to join larger group can be arranged). The frequency and time of day will be determined based on availability of members and project design phases (certain phases may require more frequent meetings than others).

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of Involve on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
  • Comfortable using technology to attend online/virtual meetings
  • An interest in improving health care services
  • The time to participate in the engagement opportunity
Patient Partners ARE NOT required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
