The Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) initiative empowers physicians in BC to create positive system impact through quality improvement skill development and hands-on QI project support. Through various levels of QI training and supports, PQI enables physicians to improve the experience and outcomes of patients across the health care system, while enhancing physician well-being and engagement. The PQI initiative has launched a Health Equity Advisory Committee (HEAC) to ensure the initiative is effectively embedding principles, measures, and activities that support equity, both for patients and providers.
We are seeking a community partner who identifies as Indigenous and who is interested in contributing their voice to the HEAC. The scope of this committee will be to develop a plan to elevate health equity principles on both operational and structural levels within the work of the initiative, and to provide insight for integrating health equity best practices into the program. Knowledge of QI is preferred, but not required. The opportunity will take place virtually over Zoom, for monthly 1 hour meetings, with occasional actions between meetings.

The chosen candidate will be eligible for an honorarium of $50/hour for meeting attendance and any other committee activities. Any travel or other expenses related to participation in the opportunity will be fully covered up front or reimbursed.

The length and frequency of the meetings may change as the committee evolves, with the consensus of members.

If you have any concerns about your ability to participate, please contact Dan Angrignon (dangrignon@doctorsofbc.ca) to see if support options are available. We are always seeking to better understand and reduce barriers to participation.
