Our aims are to improve the quality and quantity of discussions regarding patients Goals of Care (GOC) in BC. Our goal is to provide patients, families, nurses and doctors with better tools and techniques to have these difficult but important discussions. We want to ensure patients and families receive the right information to be able to give informed consent for interventions and not receive interventions that are not in keeping with their values or expressed wishes.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of Involve on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
  • Specific health care experiences [details below]
  • Comfortable using technology to attend online/virtual meetings
  • An interest in improving health care services
  • The time to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • It would be ideal if the patient partner has experience with Goals of Care discussions, about themselves or a family member. We would be interested in experiences that went well or not so well.
Patient Partners ARE NOT required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
