Aim

To design a process for the meaningful inclusion of First Nations voice in health benefit provision transformation. The First Nations Health Authority recognizes the importance of patient partner perspectives as this work moves forward and would like to gather patient partners to: - test relevance of our key messaging - gauge the quality of our materials - hear from a cohort of First Nations individuals on how they feel engagement is best conducted - conduct open and insightful dialogue on the next steps of health benefit transformation

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of consult on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will listen to and acknowledge your ideas and concerns, and provide feedback on how your input affected the decision.

Eligibility

BC First Nations resident living in community (on reserve) Experience with non-insured benefits program Access to internet connectivity required

Logistics

Number of vacancies: 5-6 Location, Date, Time and Frequency: conducted virtually (GoToMeeting), during the last week of July, one-time (possibility reconvene for follow-up), 2 hour duration. Initiative Format: focus group Connection Method: webinar Commitment: one time

Reimbursement

Due to the virtual format of engagement, no expenses will be incurred.

Background

There is a need to pre-test our approach prior to larger scale implementation The overall project will include our internal health benefits team as well as our communications supports This is a low risk project, however, timelines are tight. The care setting is most related to Dental, Vision and Medical Supplies
