Island Health is reviewing the signage in the new Comox Valley Hospital Emergency Department. We are looking for volunteers to do a walk-through and offer feedback on how our wayfinding signage is working.

This opportunity is at the level of consult on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will listen to and acknowledge your ideas and concerns, and provide feedback on how your input affected the decision.Eligibility
- Patient partners unfamiliar with the Comox Valley Emergency Department and Medical Imaging are encouraged to apply.
- Live in the Comox Valley area
Logistics
Number of vacancies: 6 Date/Time: Sept 25th with 6 time slots. 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM. Each volunteer will do a separate walk through with the Emergency Department manager. Location: In-person walkthrough and discussion with manager at Comox Valley Hospital Commitment: One day, approximately 30 minutes. This will be a one time occurrenceReimbursement
Local travel (mileage/parking) expenses as applicable according to Island Health rates.Background
Assumptions were made pre-opening of the new facility around signage. Some adjustments post-opening have been made and we now need to re-evaluate if our signage is effective for easy navigation of patients and family.
