Penticton Health Centre wants to improve the layout of its waiting areas so that they are more inviting for patients and they want your help to design these spaces!

Aim

The patient partner will work with the staff of Penticton Health Centre to re-design the current waiting areas. The waiting area was painted in December and bulletin boards and pamphlet racks were removed. Now it is time to explore what works for this area for the patients regarding what information is available and the design of the room.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of collaborate on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will work together with you to formulate solutions and incorporate your advice and recommendations into the decisions to the maximum extent possible.

Eligibility

  • Patients who use the Penticton Health Centre and have thoughts and ideas on how their waiting experience could be improved

Logistics

Vacancies: 3 or 4

Location, date, time: The first meeting will be March 6 at 2:30 pm at Penticton Health Centre (740 Carmi Avenue, room 268). The meeting will be maximum one hour.

Commitment: It is expected that meetings will continue for up to four months.

Reimbursement

Patient partner reimbursement follows the Interior Health staff travel policy. Patients will receive out of pocket expenses for travel (mileage further than 50 kilometres), parking or local public transport. Out-of-pocket expenses take up to six weeks for reimbursement to occur, once the form has been completed and receipts received.

Background

Staff working within the Health Centre will be involved.
