Interior Health is looking for two patient partners to join their Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use steering committee. This committee meets monthly to focus on recommendations for the delivery and development of these services.

Lead Organization or Department

Interior Health, Quality, Standards and Practice- Mental health and substance use

Aim

The aim of this committee is to make recommendations and set priorities to enhance child and youth mental health and substance use care services. The patient partner will be an essential committee member and will participate in a monthly steering committee to represent the patient perspective when making decisions and setting priorities.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of collaborate on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will work together with you to formulate solutions and incorporate your advice and recommendations into the decisions to the maximum extent possible.  

Eligibility

Experience as a family member or caregiver in supporting child/youth through the mental health care system.

Logistics

Vacancies: 2 Location, Date, Time and Frequency: Monthly steering committee meeting via teleconference Commitment: One-year term with option to renew  

Reimbursement

Meetings will be held via toll-free teleconference. Therefore, no expenses are expected.

Background

The Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance use steering committee is made up of patient partners and relevant parties from within the health authority working in the area of mental health and substance use and with children and youth.
