Registration and all travel costs incurred to attend these events will be covered or reimbursed in accordance with the provincial Travel Policy guidelines. As much as possible, we will pre-pay travel expenses directly (e.g., booking flights and accommodation). For those expenses we cannot pay in advance (e.g., transit tickets, meals), we are able to provide expedited payment within a couple of weeks via cheque mailed to the address provided once an expense reimbursement form is received to the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council Vancouver office. If required, assistance may be provided upon request to ensure hotel deposits and incidental expenses are looked after in advance to reduce or eliminate the need for post-event reimbursement. Background
The Surgical Quality Action Network (SQAN) is dedicated to helping provide better outcomes for the 200,000 British Columbians who undergo surgery each year. If you or a loved one have had surgery in BC, we invite you to contribute your experience and knowledge as a participant in this interactive and action-oriented event. This event is primarily intended to share experiences, knowledge and build momentum for improvement in surgical care; it is not intended to create policies or set targets/priorities for surgical care in the province. Registration will be capped at 180 and will include clinical and administrative staff (ranging from point of care to senior leadership) from surgical services in all Health Authorities. Patient partners can review previous SQAN-supported initiatives on the BCPSQC website at https://bcpsqc.ca/improve-care/surgical-improvement/Health Care Partner Contact Information
