Interior Health - Health System PlanningAim
Interior Health, like other health authorities in BC, is required by the Ministry of Health to complete an Annual Service Plan Report (ASPR) which outlines how they have aligned with and delivered on provincial priorities/targets in the previous fiscal year (i.e. in this case 2016/17). The report is intended to be a succinct, public document. We are looking for a patient partner to review critical sections of the draft report to ensure that they are written in a way that is understandable to the general public.Level of Engagement
This opportunity is at the level of consult on the spectrum of engagement (www.iap2.org). The promise to you is that the health care partner will listen to and acknowledge your ideas and concerns, and provide feedback on how your input affected the decision.Eligibility
This engagement is ideal for patient partners who have:- Experience reviewing confidential government documents (e.g. reports, policies, etc)
- Experience/background in health care
- Some understanding of current provincial health care strategic direction / goals
- Familiarity with plain language writing style
- Access to phone and computer (including email and Microsoft Word software)
Logistics
- Vacancies: 2
- Format: The patient partner will receive the 31-page, confidential draft Annual Service Plan Report electronically. It is estimated that it will take 1 - 2 hours to review specified sections of it and another hour to provide feedback by teleconference. This one-time document review can be done from a location that is convenient for the patient partner and would need to be completed by September 12, 2017. Future opportunities of the same nature may arise.
Reimbursement
No costs are expected to occur as communication will take place by phone and email. Background
