Royal Inland Hospital has been expanding its services to the community for many years. Royal Inland Hospital Cardiac Services is now in a position to engage and involve those that receive these services. The voice of people utilizing these services will help guide what our service looks like moving forward.

Aim

We would like to provide multiple opportunities for patient partners to provide input in building our service. There are multiple forums for this, the first is in the heart function clinic. We would like to invite a patient partner to work with us to provide the patient perspective.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of collaborate on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will work together with you to formulate solutions and incorporate your advice and recommendations into the decisions to the maximum extent possible.

Eligibility

Experience working in large groups A patient partner who is currently an active patient in the heart function clinic Knowledge of cardiac disease processes and impact to health and well being Health care background an asset Comfort in contributing ideas and planning of process in health care

Logistics

Number of vacancies: 1 Location, Date, Time and Frequency: It is anticipated that the group will meet for one hour per month During the COVID19 outbreak all meetings will be held by teleconference This work will likely continue over year

Reimbursement

Parking for face to face meetings will be reimbursed as per Interior Health’s policy.

Background

The staff involved in the meetings will include cardiologists, cardiac manager and director, nursing staff and clerks. This work will look at both community and acute care focused but the majority of the discussion will be focussed on community at this time.
