Interior Health - Aboriginal Mental Wellness

Aim

To inform and consult on identifying and prioritizing next steps within the Aboriginal Mental Wellness Plan. Can you define the role of the patient partner throughout the day?

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of consult on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will listen to and acknowledge your ideas and concerns, and provide feedback on how your input affected the decision.

Eligibility

• Comfort with conversations around mental wellness and substance use
• Willing to share knowledge around the impacts of inter generational trauma on mental health and substance use.
• Comfort telling their story
• Background in health care would be helpful but not necessary

Logistics

Number of vacancies: 1 Location, Date, Time and Frequency: November 19th 8:30-4:30pm  

Reimbursement

Pre-approved travel, meals and accommodation will be reimbursed in accordance with Interior Health policy

Background

Can you provide more context on the history of the Aboriginal Mental Wellness plan (a link to the plan, how long the committee has existed and any past patient engagement on the committee) The other participants are the Director of Aboriginal Mental Wellness, two regional Aboriginal Mental Wellness Practice Leads and our program knowledge coordinator and program support.
