Because your voice matters.

Become a Patient Partner

You have health care experiences to share — like visiting your family doctor, visiting the emergency department and supporting friends and family as they receive care. Becoming a patient partner is a way for you to use those experiences to improve our health care system.

PVN consists of British Columbians who are passionate about improving health care. Our patient partners represent patients, family members and caregivers who have received health care services at some point in their lives. Their wisdom and voices are heard, valued and supported.

Patient partners are contributing every day to important conversations, projects and decisions throughout the health care system. Join them.

Signing up as a patient partner is a three-step process:

  1. Fill out our sign-up form. We want to get to know you, find out why PVN interests you and help guide you to engagement opportunities that are a good fit for you and your experience.
  2. Sign our patient partner commitments, which ensures that you know the support you can expect from us as well as your responsibilities as a volunteer.
  3. Take part in an upcoming orientation. This one-hour session answers your questions and gives you the information you need in order to get started. After your orientation, we’re here to support you whenever, and however, you need!

I was thrilled to discover the Patient Voices Network, where the array of places to be the voice of a patient is vast and incredibly interesting. Besides my ongoing “gig” with the BC Emergency Medicine Network, I have enjoyed being involved in several one-off initiatives. I love working with professionals who genuinely value the perspectives of their patient partners.
