The Edge of Care Film Premiere

  • This event has passed.

April 12, 2023 @ 4:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Anyone interested in rural health is invited to the premiere of THE EDGE OF CARE – a film about the impact that Real-Time Virtual Support (RTVS) peer supports have had on remote communities and the rural providers that serve them.

The film was created by the Educational Technology (EdTech) team from UBC’s Faculty of Medicine in partnership with RCCbc. The film is about 20 minutes long and showcases two communities—Bella Bella and Takla—that use RTVS. It features rural physicians, Indigenous community members, medical trainees and RTVS physicians (including Dr. Jeff Beselt).

The film will premiere on YouTube at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, April 12.
You can watch on the RCCbc website here — it will be available to view at any time after that date.

I was thrilled to discover the Patient Voices Network, where the array of places to be the voice of a patient is vast and incredibly interesting. Besides my ongoing “gig” with the BC Emergency Medicine Network, I have enjoyed being involved in several one-off initiatives. I love working with professionals who genuinely value the perspectives of their patient partners.
