Reconnect with Your True Self: A Workshop with Last Cut Project’s Samantha Paige

  • This event has passed.

December 5, 2019 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Have you ever felt like a stranger in your own body?

After a cancer diagnosis at age 21 and many subsequent experiences lived from a place of fear and anxiety, Last Cut Project creator Samantha Paige did for far too long. Over time, she learned to regularly ask herself: “How can I own my life and make my life my own?” By taking time for honest introspection and acknowledging these moments of disconnect, she began to make some significant decisions, or last cuts, to create a life with greater congruence between her inner and outer worlds.

In this writing workshop, Samantha Paige will help us each identify what it means to feel like a stranger in one’s own body and what it feels like to be connected to our true self. Together, we will ask ourselves a few powerful questions and spend time brainstorming one action that will help forge a personal path towards more connection and freedom in our own individual experience. Samantha will vulnerably share from her personal story as a survivor and previvor, and offer highlights from her framework for reconnecting to your true self from her LAST CUT book and workbook. As Paige believes, “I write the story to right the story.”

This workshop is online and free for all to attend!

PVN has really helped us engage with patient partners to improve health services at Northern Health.  It is more and more becoming the norm to include patients in the design, delivery and evaluation of health services.  PVN education and supports, involving patient partners, have enabled us to develop the capacity to include the patient voice to make care better and achieve better health outcomes.
