Women may wonder whether the ups and downs in their mood are normal or a sign of depression. Day-to-day, never-ending to-do lists can be very stressful for women, and chronic stress is a risk factor for depression. Women are susceptible to depression at various stages throughout life, from the teenage years, the postpartum period, and the perimenopausal transition, while in the older years women may experience a number of physical changes that influence brain health. It is important to know the signs of depression, and to know what are the effective treatments available and where to get help. Experts will address each of these topics in this free public forum held on International Women’s Day.
