The purpose of International Overdose Awareness Day is to focus on prevention and remembrance and decrease the stigma towards people with substance use addictions.

This public event will be an inclusive, family-friendly awareness day that focuses on prevention and remembrance as well as social inclusion that encourages community conversations to expand understanding and compassion for people with substance use addictions as well as their families and friends.

  • 12:00 – 8:00 p.m.: Join our Sharing Circle music/conversations & activities, join in creating Memorial Flags, browse our information booths
  • 12:00 – 4:00 p.m.: Join in creating posters for the Demonstration March
  • 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.: Join our Demonstration March around downtown Kamloops
  • 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.: Join our Sharing Circles, Memorial Flag Craft, an browse our information booths while listening and participating in the adjoining Music In The Park venue, Big Dance Party by Majesty (an all-ages show)
  • 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.: Join our Candlelight Vigil (flameless candles)

Location: Near the Riverside Park Bandshell.
