Do you have experience with a health care-associated infection such as CDI, CPO or MRSA within the last five years? The Provincial Infection Control Network of BC (PICNet) would like to hear your story.
PICNet, a health improvement network of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), publishes an annual report on provincial numbers of healthcare-associated infections, including Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI), Carbapenemase-producing organisms (CPO), and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Regular surveillance and monitoring of CDI, CPO and MRSA in healthcare settings is conducted to understand the impact of these infections on patients in BC. By monitoring cases and trends of healthcare-associated infections, infection prevention and control measures can be improved to help reduce the spread and the number of infections in BC hospitals.
PICNet would like to include a quote or story about a person or family member’s experience with a healthcare-associated infection in our upcoming annual report and highlight their perspective.
Patients or family members of people who had a CDI, CPO or MRSA infection in a BC hospital are invited to talk about their experience with a member of our team for 45-60 minutes. Participants will be offered $50 for their time.
