Open to Patients partners across Canada

The CCRA (www.ccra-acrc.ca) is currently engaged in a process to prepare a series of recommendations for research funders on priority areas for funding in cancer health services research. We are engaging with several key stakeholder groups to gather input. I am writing to request your assistance in helping us to recruit cancer patients, survivors and family members/caregivers who may be interested in contributing to this work.

We are looking to engage people from across the country and will be holding five regional online discussions in mid-September. Interested persons will need to apply (online questionnaire) by September 8th.

Persons selected for the online discussions will be required to complete some pre-work, will be reimbursed ($100), and will be acknowledged in the final report. People not selected (we are looking to diversify the discussion groups so not everyone who applies may be selected), will have an opportunity to complete a survey to contribute their voice.

The survey will be distributed later in the fall.

PVN has really helped us engage with patient partners to improve health services at Northern Health.  It is more and more becoming the norm to include patients in the design, delivery and evaluation of health services.  PVN education and supports, involving patient partners, have enabled us to develop the capacity to include the patient voice to make care better and achieve better health outcomes.
