My Health My Community (MHMC) is the largest local population health survey in BC, asking people aged 18 and older who live in the Vancouver, Fraser Valley and Coastal Rural regions to provide information about their health, lifestyle choices, community involvement and neighbourhood characteristics. In 2019-2020, Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health are once again investing in this project with the goal of delivering to you and to your communities high-quality, community-specific data and related reports. We need your help!

My Health My Community (MHMC) is the largest local population health survey in BC. In 2013, the first ever MHMC survey was launched which was completed by over 33,000 participants residing in the Lower Mainland over a period of one year. This made possible to produce high-quality local reports by municipality and neighborhood, along with the data informing healthy public policy, like the Healthy City Strategy at the City of Vancouver and the Richmond Wellness Strategy.

In 2019-2020, Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health are once again investing in this project–with the goal of delivering to you and to your communities, high-quality, community-specific data and related reports which could then be used to:

  • Inform various levels of planning, related policies and infrastructure investments;
  • Strengthen your funding applications and business cases; and
  • Engage your key stakeholders in promoting health and livability across your community

We need your help!

To inform our implementation plan and ensure we capture an accurate snapshot of the health and well-being of our communities, we need to better understand potential opportunities and barriers your communities may experience. Through your responses, we look forward to learning how we can better reach your organization and the communities you serve. Thank you for your assistance!

Where those of us in the room may have debated policy or wording, patient voices made sure patients were top of mind. And as a result, significant improvements were made to simplify something that was otherwise complex. Patient voices at the table bring us back to reality in terms of what we are trying to achieve.
