Quality Forum 2019

  • This event has passed.

February 26, 2019 @ 7:00 am - February 28, 2019 @ 3:30 pm

$200 – $475

The Quality Forum is a great opportunity to learn new skills and strategies, discuss opportunities and challenges, and network with others interested in improving health care in British Columbia. Participants include physicians, nurses, pharmacists, allied health professionals, patients and students. They work in academic, quality improvement, administrative and senior executive roles. In total, nearly 1,000 people will attend the main two days of Quality Forum.

The main two days of the Forum include breakout sessions and interactive workshops on a variety of topics related to improving quality across the continuum of care. They will be a mix of content that the event’s Steering Committee feel should be showcased as well as presentations and storyboards chosen through our Call for Abstracts.

The event will feature field trips, so that participants can learn lessons from other industries that are applicable to health care, plenary presentations, a debate and a storyboard reception that will bring participants together to learn, to be entertained, and to be inspired.

As with past years, Quality Forum 2019 has been self-assessed as Patients Included, which means that it met five clauses that ensure the patient experience will be incorporated. Among its commitments, the BC Patient Safety & Quality Council is sponsoring the attendance of 20 PVN patient partners who were chosen through an engagement opportunity.

The conference is now sold out but never fear! There will be many ways for you to join the online conversation if you’re unable to attend the Forum, such as following and using the hashtag #QF19 on social media and watching some presentations live on the Council’s Facebook page. Presentations will be available online after the event.

Where those of us in the room may have debated policy or wording, patient voices made sure patients were top of mind. And as a result, significant improvements were made to simplify something that was otherwise complex. Patient voices at the table bring us back to reality in terms of what we are trying to achieve.
