By extracting patterns from medical data (e.g. age, medications, procedures), artificial intelligence (AI) may increase the ability of clinicians to understand patient needs (e.g. AI can guide clinicians in patient recovery from illness). However, it is not easy to communicate these results. We are seeking parents of children with previous surgery at BC Children’s Hospital to develop a tool to visualize AI suggestions to improve patient care.

More Information:

What’s Involved:
You will complete two questionnaires about demographics (for example, age, education) and your understanding of artificial intelligence (AI). During virtual focus groups (of 4-5 people), participants will provide ideas to design a risk communication tool. Later, individual sessions to test tool performance will be conducted; for the evaluation activity, you should not have taken part in the previous focus group meetings designing the tool.

Eligibility
Age: 18 Years – 100 Years Old
Accepting Healthy Volunteers: No
