UBC Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) has recently launched a new Nurse Practitioner Continuing Professional Development (NP CPD) Program. This provincial initiative, developed in partnership with the Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of BC (NNPBC), is designed to support the ongoing learning and practice needs of nurse practitioners across British Columbia.

To help guide this important work, we are forming a multi-stakeholder Advisory Committee that will meet two to three times per year (virtually), starting in summer 2025 through March 2026 (with possible renewal through March 2027).

We are seeking a patient partner to join the committee to ensure patient and public perspectives are meaningfully integrated into our decision-making.

In terms of scope and commitment, committee members will:
• Provide input on program priorities, emerging needs, and topics
• Share insights that can improve care quality and access
• Help ensure the program reflects a range of experiences and communities
• Receive an honorarium for their time and contributions

We are committed to ensuring that our committee reflects the diversity of BC’s communities and especially welcome interest from people who identify as Indigenous, racialized, or members of other equity-deserving groups.

It’s really hard to make changes in health care. When a PVN patient partner says, ‘This is important to us’ it keeps us grounded on why a change is needed and keeps us motivated to keep going on projects.
