The Type 2 Diabetes Network focuses on sharing, developing and applying innovative practices to improve outcomes for people living with type 2 diabetes across BC. We focus on improving collaboration and knowledge transfer to help accelerate the use of expert knowledge and experience from patients and researchers. The benefits of the network include reduced duplication and fragmentation of work while leaving space for adaption in the local context. The network is made up of partners from across the system including physicians, dietitians, diabetes educators, people with type 2 diabetes and their families, researchers, policy makers, and community leaders.

The Advisory Committee plays an important role in the Type 2 Diabetes Network by providing overall strategic guidance. This includes informing the share purpose, objectives, and key activities. We are looking for 2 patient partners living with type 2 diabetes to participate on the Advisory Committee. The time commitment is two 1.5 hour meetings on Zoom per year for a 2 year term (Oct 2023 – Sep 2025).

The Patient Voices Network has connected me to a community with the same drive to bring person- and family-centred care to the forefront. I am grateful for all opportunities I have been a part of thanks to PVN, which positively impacts patients like my sister and their caregivers. No matter how small, all patient engagement will help shape the future of health care and that I can stand behind
