The purpose of the Joint Specialist Service Committee/Fraser Health Quality Improvement (QI) Steering Committee is to engage and enable physicians to support further development, implementation and spread of QI practices across the health system. The vision is to empower physicians to enable a continuous improvement culture, to achieve excellence in care for patients and family, where British Columbia is a model of health and wellness globally.

The patient and family voice is an indispensable part of improving the B.C. health system. The Joint Specialist Service Committee/Fraser Health Quality Improvement (QI) Steering Committee is committed to authentic patient engagement that empowers patient partners to be members with equal privileges and responsibilities.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of Collaborate on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
  • Previous committee/working group experience
  • Have access to technology and the internet to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • Comfortable using technology to attend online/virtual meetings
  • An interest in improving health care services
  • Patient partners are responsible for: • Offering patient and family-focused insights to support the Joint Specialist Service Committee/Fraser Health Quality Improvement (QI) Steering Committee • Engaging as full Steering Committee members • Identifying when additional support is required
Patient Partners ARE required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
