Thank you for your interest in providing anonymous feedback on the drafted revisions to the Regulatory Supervision of Students practice standard for LPNs, RNs, RPNs, and NPs.

Proposed revisions to this practice standard are intended to:
• clarify professional responsibilities and accountabilities for nurses when they authorize student activities including when RNs, RPNs, and NPs authorize employed student licensee (registrant) activities
• incorporate Regulatory Supervision of Nurse Practitioner Student Restricted Activities practice standards and select practice standards from the Employed Student Registrants practice standards to improve user- experience and support consistency
• integrate language outlined in the Health Professions and Occupations Act
strengthen the safeguards to protect clients while also supporting attainment of competence by students

We are seeking input from nurses, employers, other regulators, members of the public, and Indigenous partners to ensure the practice standard is clear, practical, and addresses risks to the public in alignment with BCCNM’s regulatory philosophy.

Please review the revised practice standard here prior to starting the survey. This is necessary to answer the survey questions.

This survey should take about 10 minutes to complete..

This feedback process is anonymous, however we ask that you identify which key audience(s) you represent to help us organize and analyze the information gathered effectively.

If you have questions about this survey or would like to provide additional feedback via email, please email policysurvey@bccnm.ca. Please note that if you email us, your feedback will no longer be anonymous.

Recently, a PVN Patient Advisor asked healthcare partners, “What are we learning from patients, families, and others thus far during this pandemic?”. This is an excellent question and one to ask ourselves daily.
