The SPH Medicine Quality and Safety Committee is a group of leaders who support the Medicine Program—such as managers, directors, and clinical staff. We meet every two months to look at how the program is doing in areas like patient safety and quality of care.
The committee helps us keep track of how well care is being delivered and whether there are any risks or concerns that need attention. It is also a space for people to share updates, stay informed, and learn from one another.

Examples of topics we discuss include
• Updates on Medicine Program activities
• Projects focused on improving patient care
• Learning from patient safety incidents
• Workflow or process changes that affect teams

Time commitment
The Quality and Safety meetings occur every two months and it is for one hour. It is a virtual meeting via Teams. In addition to this meeting, there might be some adhoc participation if interested, likely virtual and estimated at approximately 0-2 hours per month.

What the patient partner can expect from these meetings:
– To get updates on major events/projects impacting the program
– A collaborative environment where leaders are tracking and discussing safety and quality of care
– Opportunity to ask questions and raise concerns

Honorarium
There will not be an honorarium provided for virtual participation. However, travel-related expenses such as parking, and mileage will be reimbursed for any in-person participation.
