Role description
Island Health is inviting Patient Partners to take part in environmental assessments of hospitals and residential care homes. These assessments focus on the physical care environment – such as cleanliness, food services and building maintenance – to help ensure spaces are safe, welcoming and respectful.

Patient Assessors will join a team of Island Health leaders to visit select sites and share their lived experience and perspective. Hearing directly from patients and families helps ensure that improvement efforts support privacy, dignity and quality and meet community expectations for clean and well‑maintained spaces.

Please note: These assessments focus on the care environment only and do not include clinical care or staffing matters.

• Royal Jubilee Hospital: April 30, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

PVN has really helped us engage with patient partners to improve health services at Northern Health.  It is more and more becoming the norm to include patients in the design, delivery and evaluation of health services.  PVN education and supports, involving patient partners, have enabled us to develop the capacity to include the patient voice to make care better and achieve better health outcomes.
