Role description
Island Health is working with the Province of BC to test a new way of getting Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) devices to patients at home. These programs, like Community Virtual Care, support patients by using technology to monitor their condition from home. To take part, patients will receive a device kit that usually includes a tablet and tools like a blood pressure monitor or other health devices. At this time, these kits are set up in person by a technician. However, as more patients join these programs, it can take weeks to schedule an installation.

To improve this, we are piloting a “Direct to Patient” (DTP) shipping model. With this approach, device kits are mailed directly to patients’ homes. A team member then provides step-by-step support over the phone to help patients set up and use the equipment. We are looking for three patient partners from across the Island Health region to test the new model.
