We would like to focus on making improvements to the patient journey from when a patient is in the Emergency Department at Kelowna General Hospital to the patient being admitted to a hospital Unit. This workshop will be approximately 5 days, Nov. 25 – 29.

We are looking for a patient partner who has experience being in the Emergency Department at Kelowna General Hospital and then being admitted to a Unit. The improvement event is approximately 5 days long (Nov. 25 – 29). The ideal patient partner is willing to share their experience and participate in trialing improvement ideas throughout the week.

Eligibility:
• Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
• Specific health care experiences [details below]
• An interest in improving health care services
• Ideally our patient partner would have experience going to the Emergency Department at KGH and then being admitted to a unit.

Patient Partners ARE NOT required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.

Logistics
• Location – Kelowna General Hospital
• Times – 8am-4pm Monday-Thursday,  8am-1pm Friday
• Expenses –  We can reimburse parking, gas for transportation, and lunches.

Seeking the patient perspective doesn’t have to be complicated; it simply entails a commitment to ask and listen. Patient advisors not only bring a valuable perspective but also share original ideas and unique skills. Including the patient and family perspective changes the conversation and aligns the team’s focus towards common goals.
