Open to Provincial Region, Patient partners across BC

Last updated

The BC Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Perioperative Care Alignment and Digital Screening (PCADS) initiative and Provincial Health Authorities, aim to enhance pre- surgical screening for non-emergency adult surgeries by designing a patient-centered process to optimize surgical outcomes. We are conducting one on one interviews to gather feedback from high-risk patients and caregivers to improve usability, accessibility and communication within presurgical screening processes.

Patient partners will:
• Participate in a  45-60 minute one-on-one interview to share experiences with pre-surgical preparation.
• Provide input on digital screening questions to help patients to prepare for surgery.
• Help identify barriers, gaps and opportunities to improve the overall patient experience in the pre-surgical screening process.

An honorarium will be provided in this engagement. The health care partner will share details directly with the successful patient partners.

I was thrilled to discover the Patient Voices Network, where the array of places to be the voice of a patient is vast and incredibly interesting. Besides my ongoing “gig” with the BC Emergency Medicine Network, I have enjoyed being involved in several one-off initiatives. I love working with professionals who genuinely value the perspectives of their patient partners.
