Interior Health is seeking two additional Public Members to join our unique Person- and Family-Centred Care (PFCC) Steering Committee. With input from both Public Members and IH leaders, the Steering Committee provides strategic direction to Interior Health around the goals, principles, policies, and priorities related to Person- and Family-Centred Care to improve the health care system and help guide improvement initiatives. The committee highlights the importance of bringing the patient / public voice to all discussions, ensuring that the patient / public perspective is at the core of the work.
The committee meets once a month, on the third Monday of every month, for two hours except for July and August. These virtual meetings are the core of the engagement opportunity and attendance is appreciated. The meetings are collaborative and amplify the patient / public voice. Public partners will be asked to review materials ahead of meetings, such as presentations, minutes, or agenda items. Partners are also encouraged to bring items forward for discussion or consideration. Optional additional engagements may include participating in review of IH projects, posters or policies.
Public members come from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. They bring knowledge, skills and abilities from their various areas of expertise and perspectives from their unique experiences with/in the health care system. Public membership will aim to represent the diverse population that IH serves.
Work will include organization-wide engagement and the inclusion of public members in the co-design and ongoing development of IH as a health system. The Committee will also develop working groups to lead specific PFCC focused projects. Participation in activities outside of the preparation and attendance at Steering Committee meetings is optional as we acknowledge you are a volunteer and have your own time commitment and responsibilities.
