We are seeking 3 Public Members from the Central Okanagan/Kelowna area to join the KGH Person & Family Advisory Council.

We are committed to communicating and promoting the core principles of Person- and Family-Centred Care and together, we work to embed the principles throughout our hospital.

With input from public members and KGH leaders, the PFAC will provide a platform for patients and the public to share their voices in local healthcare service delivery. The KGH PFAC will advise and offer guidance on issues and concerns experienced by patients and brought forward to the council. Public members come from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, reflecting the variety of communities served by KGH.

The PFAC will use publicly available patient experience data to guide and evaluate the outcomes of projects and improvements. Partners will lead discussions and provide direction, while IH leaders will connect these discussions with the relevant healthcare professionals to implement changes and lead projects at the site level.

The KGH PFAC will meet quarterly, on the last Tuesday of the month from 2:00-3:30 of February, May, August, November, for 90 minutes. These virtual meetings (occasional in person) are the core of the engagement opportunity and attendance is appreciated.

The meetings are collaborative as the PFAC is made up of equal numbers of IH leaders and Public Partners. Public partners may be asked to review materials ahead of meetings, such as presentations, minutes, or agenda items. Partners are also encouraged to bring items forward for discussion or consideration.

The Patient Voices Network has connected me to a community with the same drive to bring person- and family-centred care to the forefront. I am grateful for all opportunities I have been a part of thanks to PVN, which positively impacts patients like my sister and their caregivers. No matter how small, all patient engagement will help shape the future of health care and that I can stand behind
