Island Health is transforming the way clients can access services by introducing a Digital Front Door to request supports (via ISLH webpage) and by introducing a centralized 1-800# clients can contact to seek supports or access to services within Island Health.

Background
There are four elements which require Patient Experience support:

3) Ask Island Health centralized 1-800# for all Island Health inquiries or service requests.
4) Branding, Marketing and External Communications related to Digital Front Door.

Patient partner engagement aims:
1) Consultation on the User Interface and User Experience of the Island Health Webpage
2) Verify the content is easy to understand
3) Recommendations to ensure the webpage is designed with cultural humility & sensitivity in mind.

The patient partner will be pulled in to support work when and as required. Joining working groups ad-hoc when we have specific items for consult or review. Emails/direct engagement for review of specific deliverables.

PVN has really helped us engage with patient partners to improve health services at Northern Health.  It is more and more becoming the norm to include patients in the design, delivery and evaluation of health services.  PVN education and supports, involving patient partners, have enabled us to develop the capacity to include the patient voice to make care better and achieve better health outcomes.
