The Quality, Safety and Risk (QSR) Committee at Providence Health Care (PHC) is looking for patient and family partners to join the committee. This is an opportunity to collaborate with health care leaders and help shape the quality and safety of care across the organization.

The QSR committee is responsible for leading the organization’s Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Management mandate, and to achieve PHC’s strategic directions related to Quality, Safety and Value. The QSR Committee will also support achievement of specific organizational performance targets.

Role of the Patient Partner
As a Patient Partner, you will be a member of the QSR Committee, contributing your lived experience and insights to help guide decisions that impact patient care. Specifically, you will:
• Participate in monthly virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams
• Review and reflect on quality, safety and risk data
• Help identify opportunities for improvement from a patient/family perspective
• Contribute to discussions about organizational priorities and initiatives

Support and orientation will be provided on the basics of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety.

Time Commitment
• 1-hour virtual (Teams) meeting once per month
• 2-year term limit

Honoraria:
No honoraria available. Transportation/parking costs for in-person meetings will be reimbursed, if required.

This opportunity is at the level of Collaborate on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
  • Comfortable using technology to attend online/virtual meetings
  • - Has lived or living experience as a patient at Providence Health Care- Wants to collaborate with a diverse group of PHC leaders to help improve the healthcare system
Patient Partners ARE NOT required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
