Interior Health is looking for patient partners to take part in creating posters that share information on the importance of civility (kindness and respect) in health care settings. On this project:
– Patient partners will collaborate on posters that share information on how patients and family members play a part in cultivating respect and kindness in the health care system.
– Posters will be placed in patient facing areas in Interior Health facilities across the region.
– We are also interested in hearing other ways we can help educate and partner with patients and families about the importance of co-creating a culture of civility in health care.
– There will be up to 4 virtual meetings, each one hour in length, to develop the posters.
If any of our patient partners working on this campaign are interested, we would like to invite them to attend one of our five Regional Civility Tour sessions. This is not a requirement of the engagement but would be an option for those interested in learning more.
This Regional Civility Tour will be stopping in five cities within the Interior: Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton, Kamloops and Salmon Arm. The tour is for hospital staff and highlights the importance of civil behavior and the impacts it can have on workplace well-being and patient safety.
If you live in one of the five cities noted above, you may attend in person. Alternatively, for those unable to attend in person, there is one virtual session available for you to join in online.
