Being prepared to meaningfully engage with the public to improve health care takes preparation and support. The BC SUPPORT – Fraser Centre and Fraser Health are working together and seeking two patient partners to lend their expertise in quality improvement and/or research to inform the development of a patient engagement workshop.

To develop a patient engagement workshop that focuses on building capacity in health care teams, researchers and patient partners for meaningful engagement. Patient partners will share their thoughts and experience as part of the team to ensure the workshop is reflective of patients’ and families’ needs.Level of Engagement
This opportunity is at the level of collaborate on the spectrum of engagement. The promise to you is that the health care partner will work together with you to formulate solutions and incorporate your advice and recommendations into the decisions to the maximum extent possible.Eligibility
Open to volunteers with experience and/or interest in:- Working as part of a team
- Telling your story
- Creating capacity for patient engagement
- Planning or delivering patient engagement presentations
Logistics
- Vacancies: 2
- Date/time: To be determined with patient partners
- Location: Via telephone, web conferences and in-person (Central City, Surrey)
- Commitment: Once a month, 2-3 hours, for up to 6 months
Reimbursement
Out of pocket expenses (mileage, transit fares, parking) will be reimbursed. In addition, compensation will be discussed with the patient partner on an individual basis.Health Care Partner Contact Information
