Integrating the patient’s voice, alongside physicians, in health care quality improvement work takes a lot of behind the scenes work to engage physicians and build capacity in the areas of quality improvement, leadership, project and change management. The Physician Quality Improvement Steering Committee provides a unique platform for patients to provide feedback to the development and implementation of quality improvement training for physicians across Fraser Health.

I am grateful for all opportunities I have been a part of thanks to PVN, which positively impacts patients like my sister and their caregivers. No matter how small, all patient engagement will help shape the future of health care and that I can stand behind
