The goal of this initiative is the development and implementation of a practice standard that provides guidance for mental health worker (unregulated care providers) support of individualized medication care plans.

The patient advisor will participate in the development process and contribute content from the perspective of persons receiving care.

Planning meetings will occur monthly and more often if needed to meet deadlines. Most meetings will be virtual through Microsoft teams. Working group team members in the same geographical location may elect to meet in-person, if indicated. Regular meeting schedule to be determined with input from members.

Level of Engagement

This opportunity is at the level of Involve on the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

Eligibility

  • Willing & comfortable to share health care experiences in a group setting
  • Specific health care experiences [details below]
  • Have access to technology and the internet to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • Comfortable using technology to attend online/virtual meetings
  • An interest in improving health care services
  • The time to participate in the engagement opportunity
  • Recipient of care from an interdisciplinary MHSU team of Island Health is an asset.

Patient Partners ARE NOT required to be PVN members to participate in this engagement opportunity.
