The BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) regulates all nurses (licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, registered psychiatric nurses, and nurse practitioners) and all registered midwives in B.C.

We invite you to review this draft ethics standard on conflict of interest expectations for nurses and midwives when they are caring for patients.

A conflict of interest is when a nurse or midwife’s personal or private interests or relationships – or those of the nurse or midwife’s family or friends – interfere with, improperly influence, or compromise the nurse or midwife’s professional responsibilities or a patient’s best interests.

Your feedback will help inform potential updates to BCCNM’s Conflict of Interest ethics standards for nurses and midwives.

This survey is anonymous, will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.

Email policysurvey@bccnm.ca if you have questions about this survey. In the subject line, please indicate the survey name. Please note that if you email us, your feedback may no longer be anonymous.
